Restoration Cleaning
PROJECT PROBLEM: Three different so called stone care and restoration companies had previously tried to fix this problematic floor for a large stone and tile supplier. None could come up with a solution. None could even improve the situation. We immediately knew what to do, and as you can see from the “CLEAN” test sample that we performed, were able to effectively resolve the issue for the tile supplier and the homeowner. This is actually a porcelain tile floor with sanded grout that instantly started to stain right after the homeowners moved in to the home. Many people believe that porcelain does not need to be sealed, including this prominent stone and tile supplier (this is a prime example that porcelain does benefit from being sealed with a premium sealant).
SOLUTION: Natural Stone Care & Resurfacing Co. was commissioned to fix this problem or the entire installation would have to have been ripped out and re-done with a different material. This would have cost the supplier approx. $30,000, but NSC’s Master Tech.’s were able to remove all of the stains and contaminants from the porcelain and grout, and then NSC protected the porcelain and grout using a premium, penetrating, natural look sealant.

Stripping of an Improperly Applied Sealant
PROJECT PROBLEM: Masonry suppliers exterior showroom floor: An inexperienced company was previously hired to beautify and protect the various stone floors on their exterior showroom floor. This company used a coating that looked great for two weeks before the floor started to turn white (from the moisture trapped between the wrong sealer type and the stone).
SOLUTION: Natural Stone Care was hired to fix this unsightly problem. NSC’s Master Technician’s stripped the stone and grout of the coating and sealed the slate with a premium, penetrating (natural look) sealant.
The white, calcium and mineral deposits never came back.

Customized Resurfacing of Travertine Flooring
PROJECT PROBLEM: The homeowner’s of this Fullerton, Ca. custom home were tired of maintaining their polished travertine flooring. Scratches and etch (dull) marks became very pronounced in the reflection of the travertine tiles. They were also extremely frustrated with the pits and cavities that developed over the years.
SOLUTION: Natural Stone Care & Resurfacing Co. was hired to come up with a solution for the homeowner’s problems. NSC’s Master Tech.’s transformed the original, highly polished travertine to an easy to maintain, honed surface. The Master Tech.’s patched/repaired all of the various pits/cavities within the travertine, and machine ground the stone and removed scratches/etch marks, to ultimately achieve a uniformly satin surface. Once the resurfacing was performed, NSC’s Master Technician’s applied a premium, penetrating, natural look sealant to protect the stone and grout.

Customized Resurfacing and Repair of Travertine
Natural Stone Care & Resurfacing Co. was interviewed by OCN- the Orange County News channel at the newly constructed, Ronald Reagan Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse.
PROJECT PROBLEM #1: The newly installed travertine tile had a highly honed surface finish from the supplying quarry/factory. This high hone finish was extremely slick and slippery when the morning dew formed on the tile surfaces. There were a few slip/fall incidents, causing the Property Manager to find a solution to their problem.
SOLUTION: Natural Stone Care & Resurfacing Co. was contacted to come up with a solution. NSC produced a sample for the Property Manager that created traction to the stone, even after being sealed. Furthermore, the overall appearance of the 26,000 square feet of stone was retained and matched the appearance of the rest of the buildings travertine surfaces.
PROJECT PROBLEM #2: The steps, planters, benches and walkways throughout the new facility were severely damaged. This damage was caused by the careless acts of skateboarders performing their tricks/stunts on the smooth travertine surfaces. The edges of travertine steps, planters, benches and walkways were severely chipped/gouged, and required a custom color matched, two part epoxy resin system to bond/build/overfill the large chips/gouges.
SOLUTION: The craftsmen of Natural Stone Care & Resurfacing Co. mixed custom colors of the two part epoxy resin system, and overfilled the large chips/gouges, then machine ground and hand sanded/smoothed the edges of the stonework to match the original look/sheen/feel of the original installation.
